Two Logo Concepts for a Local Jam Company

I turned the dot above the C into a sweet to create a sense of playfulness and fun. The colors chosen are neutral.

This is done purposefully to allow the color of the jam to dominate when the final product is viewed by the customer. The soft pastel brown is reminiscent of Maltese stone.

The custom-made font of “Cejca” is a throwback to handpainted typeface.

“ARTISAN JAMS” is a more current font downloaded from Da Font called “See You Soon”. In this way, the final look is both traditional and current, with a playful twist - thus fitting the product perfectly.

This logo is ultra-classic and simple with a black and white colour palette. The monochrome colors were chosen to make the color of the jam contrast and pop.

It incorporates serif ‘hand-painted’ font “Ċejca” juxtaposed with a more current font downloaded from Da Font called ‘See You Soon’ that spells “ARTISAN JAMS”.

The logo is inspired by Maltese tberfil - the traditional Maltese folk art of hand-painted decorative lettering, pinstriping, and ornamentation

The centerpiece of the logo is the jar of jam placed within a stylized sweet-wrapper.

It is classic and current and playful.

Preparing a Moodboard

I started out with a moodboard, collecting images related to Maltese culture.

Preparatory Sketches

I made preparatory sketches where I brainstormed various concepts. I like to use pen and pencil before eventually moving to digital tools.

Final Logo Mock-Up

Here’s the final logo in situ.

GIF To Promote the Brand

This is a fun GIF I created to promote the brand and make it seem less traditional and more current. It creates a party vibe with the flashing colours and the word play.

Pop Culture and Marketing to a Younger Audience

The banner I created here is aimed at a younger demographic. It uses pop culture iconography and super hero imagery to make the brand more cool. The superhero image is AI generated.

ChatGPTs Take

This image was produced by ChatGPT. I fed the banner I created (seen above) into the LLM and told it to improve on my work. I stored the prompt in a prompt library. In the output, you can see that it retained some of my copy and added some of its own. Likewise, it kept some visual elements and changed others. I thought this was an interesting example of how AI can build on the human process rather than simply replace it. Although I still prefer my version!
